• Hosta 'Dark Star' emerges in spring with blue-green leaves and a nice yellow margin.
• In summer the leaves are a shiny dark green with a cream margin that often streaks towards the midrib.
• The thick leaves have wavy margins that add to the beauty of this hosta.
• The waviness is so dramatic there should be a high surf warning.
• The margin becomes wider with age and an immature plant looks nothing like a mature specimen.
• One of those hostas that when it was released was all the rage and now is often looked over. It should not be!
• Lavender flowers appear in mid-summer.

Why Should I Grow It? A mature clump is quite delightful to see in the garden.
