• This seedling of H. 'Miss Susie' has brilliant yellow leaves that contrast nicely with the red petioles. 
• H. ‘Designer Genes’ is incredibly striking in the spring as the brilliant yellow leaves emerge from contrasting deep wine red shoots.
• As the leaves emerge, the tips of the leaves are tinged red which I love seeing each spring.
• It quickly grows to form a medium sized mound of bright yellow leaves with showy bright red petioles. 
• H. 'Designer Genes' holds on to its yellow color longer into the season than other red petiole gold varieties.
• In deep shade the leaves will be lime-green in summer.
• Purple flowers held up on beautiful red scapes in late summer.

Why Should I Grow It? Nice yellow leaves on bright red petioles. Is not available at the wholesale level as of Autumn 2023 so once we sell the ones we have the availability will become scarce.
