• Upright mound with cupped and corrugated green leaves. 
• Leaves emerge with some wax on the top of the leaf making them look grey-green.
• The undersides of the leaves have a lot of wax making them look greyish white.
• The top of the leaf loses the wax but the undersides hold it which makes the edge of the leaf look like a halo. 
• I really love the strong upright growth and cupped leaves.
• The story behind the name is that Hosta 'King of Spades' does not set seed readily. 
• One year the clump in our garden had one seed pod set so I started the seeds and got this one plant. 
• So when they say that 'King of Spades' does not set seed I say 'Hold My Beer'! Plus the leaves are cupped.
• Deep lavender flowers in late summer.
• Plants offered are OS divisions off of the parent plant.
