• Shiny green leaves held on red petioles arch down towards the ground.
• The leaves are long and come to a distinct point.
• Once fully leafed out it is hard to see the red petioles as the foliage hides them. 
• What you do see are the dark red scapes that emerge from the clump in late summer.
• These dark red scapes hold clusters of lavender flowers.
• When in full flower the scapes arch down towards the ground and are often lay across the foliage.

Why Should I Grow It? The shiny green leaves are attractive and the clump is colorful in full bloom.
